Meridian to Host Virtual “Supervisory Academy: Nine Sessions to Becoming a Better Manager”
January 8, 2021

The best supervisors and managers are clear-minded, performance-driven and people-oriented.

They must be able to effectively assess their work situations, understand and communicate with all employees, and determine the most appropriate responses to get the job done on time, within budget and up to standard.

These characteristics don’t always come naturally, but they can be learned.

Beginning January 27, Bonnie Cain-Wood, Communication Services Manager for OSU Libraries, will lead a nine-week virtual Supervisory Academy that focuses on becoming a better manager.

“This series is great for supervisors seeking strategies to handle tough situations, increase communication and strengthen their management skills,” said Marcy Luter, Workforce and Economic Development Project Coordinator at Meridian. “Participants will have the opportunity to network with others in similar positions and share best practices.”

The Supervisory Academy will be held virtually Wednesday afternoons through March 31. During these online sessions, managers and supervisors will be given a number of tools so they can more effectively think on their feet as they work with people to create value.
