Development of Everyday Leaders – Strong Leaders Must Be Readers
April 8, 2016

The greatest leaders throughout history have been nothing short of relentless in their pursuit of knowledge.

On April 22 join Marcy Luter, Staff and Management Development Training Coordinator at Meridian Technology Center, as she presents Strong Leaders Must Be Readers as part of the Everyday Leaders series.

“Leaders should strive to develop knowledge for self-improvement, their organization and staff. Leadership lessons can be learned through a variety of content – everything from Dr. Seuss books to interviews with Pope Francis to Oprah Winfrey magazines,” said Luter.

In this interactive session, you’re invited to bring a book that’s inspired you as a leader. You will have two minutes to discuss what leadership concept or idea you valued most from the book and how it’s shaped or changed your strategy when you engage with others. Come to this interactive session prepared to learn from fellow leaders and lengthen your Amazon wish list.

The upcoming Everyday Leaders session will be held April 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Meridian’s campus. Registration is $15 and includes lunch. To attend this session of Everyday Leaders call Meridian Technology Center at (405) 377-3333 or register online at meridiantech.edu/everydayleaders.

This professional development seminar is part of a quarterly series on leadership and provides an opportunity for individuals to meet in an informal setting, connect with a network of leaders and discover how they can make an impact in their workplace and community. Each session will combine a presentation on the selected series topic, networking opportunities and small group discussion regarding practical applications.
