Sparks are frequently flying in the Welding program at Meridian. On any given day, students are applying one of the numerous welding techniques to join, cut or manipulate metal. Whether you’re interested in working for a big company or running your own rig, you’ll learn a variety of techniques that will prepare you to handle jobs big and small.
Meridian offers two levels of welding training. Level 1 includes learning Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) and Oxy-fuel Cutting (OFC). Level 2 introduces students to Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Plasma Arc Cutting and Gouging, Oxy-fuel Gouging, and Carbon Arc Cutting and Gouging. Studentes will also be able to advance their skills with Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) open root groove welds and Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW).
