Meridian Technology Center will offer training at two locations beginning March 21.
The school’s new South Campus, located at 3025 S. Division St. in Guthrie, will focus on adult training and development, offering a wide variety of short courses for personal and professional development.
“This is an exciting time for Meridian Technology Center and the residents we serve,” said Dr. Douglas Major, Meridian Superintendent/CEO. “Over the last several years, we’ve experienced significant population growth throughout our district but particularly in the south Logan County area. To better meet the needs of our citizens there, we recognized that we needed to open an additional campus that would allow us to provide more services to our entire district. We’re proud to have chosen Guthrie for this second campus location.”
Initial course offerings include health care skills training, computer and technology content, cooking classes, adult basic education including free GED and HiSet test preparation, and training for careers in the film crew industry. Short courses at the South Campus are offered during the daytime as well as in the evening.
Meridian’s Workforce and Economic Development team will also conduct customized business training at the South Campus. In addition to traditional training rooms and labs, the facility has flexible meeting spaces and exhibit halls for professional training and conferences.
The South Campus is also home to The Peak, a business incubator that provides a place for entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. The facility has 12,500 square feet of space available for tenancy, including one- and two-person furnished offices that are 100 square feet and three light industrial bays, each measuring approximately 950 square feet.
The Peak’s team offers support through business consulting and coaching when entrepreneurs are just starting or when they are ready to scale. The Peak will also offer entrepreneur training and events. Co-working space will be available in fall 2022.
The Stillwater campus will continue to serve high school and adult students attending full-time career training programs. Workforce and Economic Development courses and Business and Entrepreneurial Services will take place at both campus locations.
Grand Opening on April 6
The Guthrie Chamber of Commerce will partner with Meridian to ceremonially open the facility during the April 6 Guthrie Chamber Coffee. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following the Chamber Coffee, Meridian will host a South Campus Open House until 1:30 p.m. where district residents can tour the facility, talk to Meridian staff and learn more about courses available at this location. Both events are free and open to the public.
