Diversity, inclusion and cultural acceptance is the norm for the next generation of employees. They understand that today’s globally changing society strengthens the workplace and brings new perspectives and ideas. But what do you do when not everyone shares the same enthusiasm for cultural changes and acceptance? How do you break down barriers and build bridges?
On February 14 as part of the ongoing HR Matters series co-sponsored by the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce and Meridian Technology Center, join Dr. Claudia Otto, Clinical Assistant Professor with Oklahoma State University. “Dr. Otto has been teaching both graduate and undergraduate special education courses at the university level since 2011,” said Marcy Luter, Staff and Management Development Training Coordinator at Meridian Technology Center. “She will draw on her cultural heritage, specialized expertise and professional experience to share about Diversity for This Generation.”
This presentation will demonstrate how employers, coordinators and trainers can prepare a proactive and productive environment for an increasingly culturally diverse job seeking population. Participants will be offered suggestions on how they can develop an awareness of different perspectives found in today’s culturally diverse environment.
HR Matters sessions are held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Meridian’s campus. Registration is $15 per session and includes lunch.
