The Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association (LSAA) named Dr. Rebecca Eastham, Executive Director of Business and Industry Services at Meridian Technology Center, the Alumni of the Year at the association’s recent annual meeting.

The Leadership Stillwater Alumni Association provides a network for interaction and leadership training for graduates of the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Stillwater program. Each year the LSAA recognizes one member who has made a significant impact on the community.

Zach Owen, LSAA President, indicated the LSAA board selected Eastham for the 2018 award because she is a proven leader in the community, giving both her time and talent to advance Stillwater and its residents.

“Choosing Rebecca for the 2018 LSAA Leader of the Year was an easy decision for the committee,” Owens said. “When I think of a leader, I think of someone that makes you want to follow them because you know they are heading toward success and positive change. Rebecca is the epitome of that person.”

Eastham’s civic involvement includes serving on the Stillwater Chamber of Commerce Board, Stillwater CARES Board and the Advisory Board for the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management. Outside of Stillwater, she serves on the Board for the Oklahoma Hotel and Lodging Association and the Advisory Board for the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition at the University of Illinois. She is a graduate of the Leadership Stillwater Class XXIV and a lifetime member of LSAA.

“I am truly honored by this recognition,” Eastham said. “I am grateful to live and work in Stillwater. It is a pleasure to serve alongside other committed and passionate leaders who want to bring out the best in our community.”
