High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Must currently hold or be willing to obtain a valid Oklahoma commercial driver’s license (CDL) with both (P) passenger and (S) school bus endorsements.
Must have or be willing to obtain a valid Oklahoma School Bus Driving Certificate.
Oklahoma School Bus Driver Health Certificate Annual Physical, or United States Department of Transportation (DOT) Physical every two years, required.
Must have an excellent current and annual Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Must submit to criminal history record check, and initial drug and alcohol tests. Must consent to random drug and alcohol testing as well as Clearinghouse queries as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the DOT.
Excellent communications and customer service skills required.
Knowledge of general cashiering practices and basic food service sanitation methods required.
Knowledge of proper food preparation and handling techniques preferred.
Must be punctual, present for work, and maintain regular attendance while working the following schedule: Monday-Friday 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. with a 30-minute break for lunch.
The Bus Driver is responsible for the safe and consistent transportation of students to and from the Meridian Technology Center (MTC) Main Campus located in Stillwater, OK.
The Bus Driver picks up and drops off MTC students at a partner high school within the MTC district. While students are in class at MTC, the bus driver is assigned to work in the Skywalk Snack Bar. Additional driving days may be necessary for student activities, summer camps, etc.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions.
The Bus Driver/Skywalk Snack Bar Assistant will be evaluated on the previously listed responsibilities based on Meridian Technology Center’s Performance Review Guidelines. This evaluation will determine salary increases and career advancement opportunities.
