Makeup for Film and TV

Throughout these courses, participants will have the opportunity to practice their skills through hands-on assignments in class, collaborate with fellow makeup artists, and receive feedback from industry professionals.

All Makeup for Film and TV offerings will take place at our South Campus in Guthrie located at 3025 S. Division St., Guthrie, OK 73044.

COLOR THEORY AND FOUNDATION MATCHING

This course provides a comprehensive understanding of color theory principles and the practical skills required to achieve accurate foundation matching for on-screen productions. Students will learn how to manipulate color effectively, ensure consistency across various media platforms, and create seamless looks for film and television, including using color theory to cover up tattoos.

CAMERA-READY MAKEUP FOR FILM AND TV

In the world of film and television, creating a natural “no-makeup” look is a valuable skill that enhances an actor’s appearance without drawing attention to heavy makeup application. This hands-on course is designed to provide aspiring makeup artists with the knowledge and techniques necessary to achieve a flawless, natural-looking complexion suitable for on-screen performances for actors and actresses.

This course will also feature guest instructor Paul Ambriz,  founder of  The Grande Ole Barbershop.

INTRODUCTION TO SPECIAL EFFECTS MAKEUP FOR FILM AND TV

This introductory course provides students with the fundamental skills and knowledge required to create realistic and convincing effects such as cuts, bruises, burns, and blood in the context of film and television productions. This hands-on course will cover essential techniques, materials, and tools used in special effects makeup as well as temporary tattoo application.
