How to Apply for Federal Financial Aid
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is used to apply for all types of financial aid. If you are an Oklahoma resident, you may also be considered for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) program. This form is available beginning early February each year. Federal student loans are not available for career training at Meridian.
Step 1. Apply for a FAFSA ID and password
If applying for FAFSA and you don’t have a new FAFSA ID and password, apply at fafsa.ed.gov.
Step 2. Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
FAFSA applications can be completed online at fafsa.ed.gov or paper copies of the form are available at Meridian. Meridian’s school code is 012474.
Step 3. Wait for a Response
Student Aid Reports (SARs) take approximately three weeks.
Step 4. Award Notification
Meridian’s Financial Aid Office will send you an award letter indicating the amount of Pell Grant you are eligible to receive.
NEW – Beginning with 2017-2018 FAFSA, apply for FAFSA soon after October 1, 2016, for the 2017-2018 Pell Award year. For 2016-2017 and 2017-2018 you must use 2015 IRS Form 1040 Tax Information. Your eligibility for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant (OTAG) depends on the date you file your 2017-2018 FAFSA.
