Learn carpentry and construction skills to build an ideal career. Students in the carpentry program learn how to operate a wide range of power and air tools used in construction. Time is also spent learning how to read and interpret blueprints that are used for new construction projects or remodeling and renovation.
The carpentry program allows students to specialize in training to become a finish carpenter or a frame carpenter. Finish carpenters build custom carpentry pieces such as cabinets, counters, shelves and other fixtures for homes, office spaces, hotels, stores and restaurants. Frame carpenters work on all aspects of construction from exterior work to interior detailing. Students in this training program will graduate with extensive knowledge and skill in frame carpentry and cabinetmaking.
Students have an opportunity to practice their skills with hands-on construction projects that include building a tiny home and garden sheds. Students in this program also explore the working relationship with other construction industries.
